Exams we cover

Five exams. One economist.

EcoNiti doesn't teach everything. We teach economics — the discipline. And we teach it for every examination that takes it seriously.

One core. Five examinations.

UPSC Economics Optional — Mains Paper I & II

Economics is one of the optional subjects in the UPSC Civil Services Mains examination. Candidates who choose it write two papers of 250 marks each. With genuine conceptual command it is among the more rewarding optionals, and it overlaps heavily with the General Studies economy portion — so the same preparation pays off twice.

Exam pattern

Two descriptive (conventional) papers in the Mains stage — Paper I and Paper II, 250 marks each, three hours each, for 500 marks in total. Answers are written long-form; there is no objective component in the optional.

Papers & marks
Paper I

Advanced Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Money & Banking, Public Finance, International Economics, and Growth & Development.

Paper II

Indian Economy — pre- and post-independence, planning and economic reforms, agriculture and industry, money & banking, and the external sector.

The overlap

Same core. Different exam.

Micro, macro, the Indian economy, public economics — the foundation is shared. EcoNiti builds the foundation, then layers each exam's specifics on top.

A student preparing seriously for one of these exams is already most of the way prepared for the others. What remains is exam-specific format, question style, and depth calibration — which is exactly what Dr. Komal's teaching and Xaptiq's adaptive practice handle.

One core. Every exam.
