The story

Why she teaches the way she does.

She started teaching because she saw the gaps. The good options are few and far between - and expensive. The cheap options are many, and fill the gap with volume, not quality. And almost everywhere, the level of personalisation is low.

Her approach is different. She teaches from first principles - building the underlying understanding so that when a student faces a question they have never seen before, they can reason through it. It is the kind of preparation that can adapt to multiple examinations.

I don't want students who can answer the questions I've taught. I want students who can answer the questions I haven't.

Dr. Komal

Chief Mentor, EcoNiti

Her own path runs through some of India's finest economics departments: a Bachelor's from Miranda House, a Master's from the Delhi School of Economics, and a PhD from the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi. She then taught economics at O.P. Jindal Global University for three years.

She founded EcoNiti to do the thing she cares about most - guide students through the toughest phase of their lives, and the toughest exams in the country. Alongside competitive aspirants, she has mentored undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students, including dissertation work.

Teaching philosophy

What Dr. Komal believes about learning.

Economics is more than a subject — it's a way of thinking. My job is to make sure you learn to think that way.

01

01
Clarity and connection

Complex ideas, simplified through real-world analogies, visual frameworks and logical progression — so even abstract concepts click into place.

02

02
Understanding over coverage

Better to deeply understand the core than to skim everything. Depth is what holds up under exam pressure — and it's exam-oriented without being rote.

03

03
A friendly, approachable space

Learning happens best where students feel supported, heard and motivated to grow — a mentor who'll tell you the truth, kindly, when your strategy needs to change.

For students with a course already

Already have a course? You might just need a mentor.

One of the most common situations Dr. Komal meets: a student who has already bought a course elsewhere and is still unsure how to actually prepare — what to focus on, what to leave, and how to use the time that's left.

She offers mentorship independently of EcoNiti's full course packages. You don't need to start over.
